Tanning and Taxidermy Snake Skins (Taxidermy)?

A couple of months ago i got some dead snakes, that passed away natural deaths, from a reptile dealer. I skinned them and just put them out to dry with salt in the sun for a day or too, then i brought them back in, and let them dry. Now they are rock hard. I was intending on making belts out of them but i cant because they are so hard.
Afterwards i found out i was suppose to, as soon as i skinned them put them in water and dish soap for 48 hours, then in glycerin, then this and that (a whole tanning process). But i didnt. My question is, can i still salvage them????? And if 'yes,' then how???
My question is how do i salvage those skins
NOT the tanning process, i already know the tanning process, but if i can salvage them AFTER I LET THEM DRY and how

I always soaked mine in antifreeze, which worked for me. Some say it's not 100% for preventing future scale loss. Here is what sounds like a workable recipe using more than just the antifreeze. This may save your hide, as after drying comes tanning. Good luck.
