Is the rena xp4 canister filter good or bad?

ok ive been researching about the xp4 and i heard that it sucks. Is this true? Are there better kinds of canister filters out there that i can get for my 180 gallon acrylic tank? Any information about it or advice is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I've never used a rena filter, but I've had friends use tham and they are a decent design. The cichlid forum guys think they are ok.
