help with dog behavior?

My dog growls and barks when new people come to my house. we took her to a dog behavior specialist and they told us that she is fearful. they recommended a gentle leader. we got one, and she is getting better but she still barks and growls. By the way, her name is Charlotte, she is a 50 lb golden/lab-looking bahamian pot-cake. she is 1 year-2 months old. she is very laid back and easy going around me. she love rawhides, she loves sticks. she has an electric fence. thanks for helping!

Sounds like you're already doing all the right things, all you need now is a little patience..And realize, the biggest reason for your dog's behavior stems from her desire to protect its owners. Though dealing with the temperament is aggravating, you can feel good that she feels that protective of you. Good indication you're doing a lot of the right things and giving her plenty of love (she's returning that love with protection)
