Is it ok to have a groomer shave my yellow Labrador?

He sheds like CRAZY (I know that comes with having a dog, but its a bit much...) I had PetSmart do this "Furminator" thing on him to help reduce shedding, but I swear he does it more now than before. A friend of mine had her Pyrenese/Lab mix shaved and she seems to like it.

But my question is.... Is it safe? I live in Oklahoma, it gets HOTT....

Terrible idea. A dogs coat is meant to keep them warm in the winter and cool in the summer, especially a labs double coat. You would be exponentially increasing his chance for heat exhaustion and sunburn

The shedding should slow down in the summer after he blows his coat, a good quality food can help but a labs a lab hes going to shed
