My kitten is 8 weeks, but has Flea's - what should i do?

I bought a kitten earlier on today, and the guy a bought it from assured me it was de-wormed, and de-flea's.
I got it home, and it wont stop scratching - it has flea's.

I went to my local shop, and all flea killers for cats sais "do not use on kittens under age of 12 weeks" - What should i do? I have an older cat, and can't keep them seperated forever, so the flea's will spread, and i've heard that they can pass to humans?
What should i do?

-taking the kitten to the vet may not be an option.

You can wash your kitten in a anti-bacterial dish soap, all you are doing is drowning the fleas, when you use the flea shampoo
