Are pet bark shock collars cruel?

Hi. Do you think it's cruel for a dog to get a shock every time he barks? He's only barking. It would be like a person getting a shock every time they speak. What do you think? Thanks x Sarah

I dontnthink they are if used properly although there is another type of thing that instead of shocking your dog, it will give him/her a spray of water. i think this is more humane. try it. dont make your dog afraid. just try to deter him/her. watch the dog whisperer. i dont think shock collers at bad. just the MOST LAST RESORT. there are millions of other ways and techniques to try try before you use the coller. take the shoke coller off and try somthing else first. PLEASE XXXX
My wife is 8 months pregnant and cant handle my dog. He is going tot the dogs trust. Ill lose him forever and my heart is broken but id rather give him away than SHOCKING him into obedience. dogs might be a lower form of life but they still have feelings. Dont make him fear you. Let him love you
